Handling A Windfall

Handling A Windfall

“I had inherited a nice chunk of money and was having a major panic attack about how to handle it wisely. Having previously used Shell’s coaching service to help me through a career change, I called upon her again to help me find my way through this new challenge. Exploring dreams and wishes, personal strengths and values, she supported me in learning new ways to look at money. Shell’s assessments of my attitudes and behavior patterns were keenly insightful and her honesty sometimes uncomfortable. After six months of working with her, I have been able to set some important spending and saving priorities and now feel more confident with my choices. Even more important I am able to set guilt-free boundaries with a family member who has become increasingly financially irresponsible. After years of living paycheck to paycheck, one emergency to the next, with a mantra of “I can’t afford it,” I am now able to choose how to use my money and am comfortable doing so.” — Isabel Oake
