These are tough times we are all going through, and during tough times, I often find solace in poetry. I was recently drawn back to an old favorite of mine by Mary Oliver. I hope you find it as relevant as I do. Take a gander…
Wild Geese
‘You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile, the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting —
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.’
Peace out!

Thank you for reminding me to breathe.

I’m so happy for this reminder of Mary Oliver and her heartfelt poetry. Spot on. I’m so glad you’re in my larger vision of community, unbounded by geography and time. Kind of like wild geese flying…. I look forward to your musings on money and have made significant changes in my relationship with money over the years thanks to you. Be safe and well in these confronting times of change. I truly believe that we will as a whole be the better for it. Victoria
I’m delighted to have been instrumental in your improved money relationship. Good for you.
